This course is a social science course intended to prepare students to pass the AP World History Modern Exam and the New York State Regents Examination in Global History and Geography. Dealing with the origin of early man to the present day, the course focuses on the impact of interactions among major societies, the relationship of change and continuity across the world during these time periods, the impact of technology and demography on people and environment, systems of social structure and gender structure, cultural and intellectual developments and interactions among and within societies, and changes in functions and structures of states and in attitudes towards states and political identities including the emergence of the nation state.
